Cultural and Social Mapping

Cultural Mapping

Most problems start when we don't understand each other. Our communication styles, expectations and miscues get in the way of productivity. KMA understands the importance of culture and the role it plays in everyday interactions. Our exclusive design is the result of more than 20 years of field-tested learning.

Leveraging extensive research, KMA experts lead organizations and individuals through a unique process using multimedia, group facilitation and discussion to identify and understand patterns of difference that explore cultures without putting people in a box.

Social Mapping

Our families, neighborhoods and experiences impact who we are and how we see the world. KMA recognizes these distinctions and turns frustration into curiosity - broadening individual perspectives and creating workplaces that work for everyone.

KMA has identified socially based patterns of difference that are a source of conflict for members of diverse groups. Using individual assignments, group workshops and organizational analysis, participants develop policies and practices to create social inclusiveness within their organization.

Measurements and Effects

One effect and measure of the organization having “arrived” is an immediate change in individual attitudes and the climate of the organization as a whole – it becomes easier to talk about things without people getting “bent out of shape.”

Another immediate and long-term effect is increased multi-cultural awareness and respect of differences leading to better staff-staff and staff-client relations, fairer organizational policies and practices, and improved ways of thinking about and doing one’s job.
