What We Do

Through cultural and social map-making and the development of cultural literacy, KMA offers a tool kit for leaders, managers and employees to understand and communicate better with people different from themselves, and also, thereby, achieve the flexibility that they and their organizations will need to stay vital and competitive in the local, national and global marketplace during periods of social complexity, uncertainty and change.

KMA’s diverse team of experts can apply cultural templates to your existing best practices to help you ensure that you have a complete plan for managing the diversity of U.S. and global businesses/organizations.

History

Kochman Mavrelis Associates, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Illinois in January 1986. It grew out of a merger of Kochman Communication Consultants, Ltd. with Jean Mavrelis Associates, Inc. As a service organization its mission and goal has been to prepare individuals and organizations to deal with social and cultural diversity in ways that value and respect differences, rather than, as has been the pattern, treating differences as social matter that individuals must repudiate or leave at the doorstep of the institution in order to better “fit in.” In service of that mission and goal, KMA offers new conceptual frameworks with which to work in dealing with cultural diversity.

What makes KMA different? KMA's unique cultural and social mapping are the result of over 20 years of field-tested learning
